The Miteos Desktop app extends what your AI agents can do far beyond the browser. Where the web app handles cloud-based tasks, the Desktop app gives agents full computer-use — they can control your mouse and keyboard, see your screen, browse the web through an embedded stealth browser, and read and write files in folders you approve. If you want agents to automate local applications, interact with desktop software, or access files on your machine, the Desktop app is what you need.

Steps to install on Windows 10 or Windows 11:
1

Download the installer

Go to platform.miteos.com/download and download Miteos-Setup.exe.
2

Run the installer

Double-click Miteos-Setup.exe and follow the on-screen prompts. The installer handles everything — no manual configuration required.
3

Launch Miteos

After installation finishes, open Miteos from the Start Menu or the shortcut on your desktop.

First Launch

1

Open the Miteos Desktop app

Start Miteos from your application launcher, Start Menu, or terminal. The app loads the Miteos platform interface in its window.
2

Sign in to your Miteos account

Use the same email and password you use on the Miteos web app. Your account, workspaces, and agent history are shared across both.
3

Grant file system permissions

When prompted, choose which folders on your machine agents are allowed to access. Agents can only read and write files within the folders you approve here — nothing outside those boundaries.
4

Start using Desktop features

Once signed in, the platform interface loads with Desktop agent capabilities fully unlocked. You’ll see Desktop-exclusive operators available when you create or run agents.

Capabilities Unlocked

Computer Use

Agents can see your screen, move the mouse, type, click, scroll, and interact with any application on your desktop — even software that has no API.

Stealth Browser

An embedded Chromium browser with real fingerprints and human-like behavior lets agents browse the web without triggering bot detection or CAPTCHAs.

Local Files

Agents can read and write files in any folder you’ve approved, making it easy to automate file-heavy workflows without uploading anything to the cloud.

IDE Integration

Agents can open VS Code, scaffold new projects, edit source files, run terminals, and execute build commands — all from within the Desktop app.

Auto-Updates

Miteos automatically downloads updates in the background while you work. The update installs the next time you quit the app — you’ll never be interrupted mid-task. To check whether a newer version is available right now, open the app menu and look for Check for Updates.
The Desktop app connects to the same Miteos account and workspaces as the web app. Switching between the two is seamless — your agents, history, and settings are always in sync.
